Please join the Asian Columbia Alumni Association (ACAA), the Columbia Law School Association, the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY), and the Korean American Lawyers of Greater New York (KALAGNY) for the Third Hong Yen Chang Award Celebration honoring Hyung Bak, Esq. He has been in this role since October 2019 and is responsible for managing legal, compliance and corporate governance matters at the company. Previously, Mr. Bak served for four years as Vice President, Group General Counsel and Secretary for AmerisourceBergen Corporation. Prior to AmerisourceBergen, he spent nine years at Campbell Soup Company in senior legal and business roles, including Vice President of Global Procurement, Chief Counsel to Campbell North America, and Chief of Staff to the CEO. Before Campbell Soup, Mr. Bak served as Associate General Counsel at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. He began his legal career in the New York offices of Covington & Burling and Sullivan & Cromwell, following a clerkship with the chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Mr. Bak is a graduate of Harvard College, holds an MPA in Domestic Policy from Princeton University, and JD from Columbia University School of Law.

Hong Yen Chang, Columbia Law School Class of 1886, was the first Chinese-American attorney in the United States. A symbol of the aspirations of Asian-Americans, he was the first person posthumously admitted to the California Bar in 2015. He had been improperly denied admission in 1890 because of the Chinese Exclusion Laws.
