- I am 9 years out of school and am not in touch with all my professors. Will providing professional references reduce my chances?
Kiet Nguyen

When do you expect to accept the final applications for those looking to start the program this summer?
Hannah McGee
27:49
Do transcripts have to be official? Or are unofficial transcripts acceptable?
Tanzhi Liu
27:57
Is the program fully on campus? or it can be switch to online after the bridge part is finished?
Jeff Knaide (he/him/his)

Jill Matusiak
28:04
Hello, how large do you predict the 2021 class will be? Has there been a trend toward a particular concentration/specialization throughout the most recent entering classes?
JC
28:12
Hi, thank you for the info session today. If I've already completed an intro to programming course in undergrad (in python, on a pass/no-pass basis), would I be able to waive the intro to programming in java bridge course?
Hannah McGee
29:13
I have a similar question as well. I am currently enrolled in an undergraduate python course. (I will receive a A,B,C) etc letter grade at the end of this Spring 2021 term. Would I be able to waive the Intro programming class bridge requirement? Or still need to take it because it is taught in another language?
ellie solhjou
29:45
Hello. Thanks for the session. How much is the tuition for the program? Is any TA position available for Bridge students?
An Nguyen
29:50
What portion of students complete the bridge part and/or the entire program on a part time basis while working full time?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
29:55
Kiet, application should be submitted as close to the March 1st deadline as possible in order to ensure review
Manish
30:13
On the website, it says "The first 3 terms are part-time and therefore students are not eligible for F-1 student status". Could you please explain it a bit on what it means for international students? Are the first three terms online?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
31:14
Hannah, transcripts can be unofficial for the application
Hannah McGee
31:28
Thank you, Rivo!
Hannah McGee
32:54
How long should the video introduction be? What type of information should be included in the video? Should it be submitted via a Youtube link?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
33:34
Tanzhi, this is traditionally on campus program for both the Bridge and MS. You can switch to the online program when in the MS, but transferring back is not approved
Madison Thantu
34:13
What is considered “a lot” of overlapping coursework?
ellie solhjou
35:08
Hello. Thanks for the session. How much is the tuition for the program? Is any TA position available for Bridge students?
Moses Ye
36:27
Hi, thanks for the info. Is it possible to keep a full time job for the first 3 semesters? Had anyone in prior cohorts done that?
Hannah McGee
38:26
Just to clarify, the interview is not live?
Alexandra Wang
42:07
Hi, thanks for the session. how long it will take admin office to release the admin decision after they receive all the material ?
Joe Redmond
42:35
I am here!
jiadaihe
43:41
Say if some of the classes got waived, does that mean I could take more other classes? And if so, what’s the difference between CS and CS Bridge?
Karen Dalton
47:48
How long will the bridge program allow remote participation? (I understand it currently allows remote participation because of the pandemic, but some of us may not be able to relocate to NY)
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
48:46
Hi Manish, correct. This program does not support the F-1 during the Bridge portion. International applicants are expected to possess or obtain a valid visa that will allow them study at part-time status. Once you transition into the MS, you will become eligible for the F-1. Note that studying at full-time during the Bridge doesn't make you eligible for the F-1
Tiana Boutros
49:41
Thank you for hosting this session! Are you allowed to choose to start in the Fall even if you don't have any courses waived? or do you have to start in the summer if you're starting from scratch?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
50:11
In terms of returning to campus, we are waiting for the university to release an official announcement about the summer, but as of now we are expecting to return to campus in the Fall
Ilana-Mahmea (she/her)
51:09
Thanks for your answers!!
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
51:11
Yes, you can choose between Summer and Fall regardless if you've previously taken courses
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
52:12
Admissions decisions are anticipated to be released in mid to late April in time for the Summer start date of may 3rd. This is for both Summer and Fall applicants
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
54:04
Since we do not advise taking more than 2 courses a term within the Bridge, you're more than welcome to continue working while in the Bridge portion, and even the MS. With that said, a flexible work schedule is key to being able to study at part-time status
Hannah McGee
55:33
How long should the video introduction be? What type of information should be included in the video? Should it be submitted via a Youtube link?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
56:04
Tuition is about $2k per credit. Further information can be found on the MS Bridge FAQ on our website
ellie solhjou
56:53
how many credit is required to get the MSCS degree thru bridge program?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
56:55
The video introduction is completely optional. With that said, there are no official guidelines. Considering the number of applications that need to be reviewed, I recommended keeping it fairly short
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
58:03
the Bridge consists of about 17 credits and the MS is 30 minimum.
Hannah McGee
58:22
@ the Panelists: did you do any preparation before starting the bridge? If so, any recommendations to prepare?
Hannah McGee
58:57
Just to clarify, the interview is not live?
Hannah McGee
01:00:11
Do you have to submit a separate masters application after the bridge?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
01:01:28
The interview for the application is not live.
Al
01:01:52
Hi, thanks for the session! I think someone already ask this but how long will it take for admin office to release decision after the priority deadline?
Hannah McGee
01:02:07
Thanks Rivo! Follow up question, what is the format of the interview if it is not live?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
01:02:25
there is a transition "application" that needs to be completed prior to moving into the MS, but admission into the Bridge means admission into the MS program so long as you complete the requirements with a minimum 3.3 gpa
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
01:02:58
For the interview, you'll be asked to log into the system and record your answers to a handful of pre-recorded questions
Hannah McGee
01:03:58
Thank you! Approximately how many applicants does the Bridge Program receive? & Approximately how many are accepted?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
01:04:26
we do not have final numbers on the application just yet, but we are expecting to admit about 25 people
Hannah McGee
01:05:07
Is 25 people for Fall and Summer? Or just 1 term?
Randolph Rivo (he, him, his)
01:05:25
25 people is for Summer and Fall combined
