Columbia GSAPP Event Series: HOME

In the wake of ongoing upheaval brought on by the emergence of a global pandemic and acts of refusal and rebellion in the face of state sanctioned extinguishment of black life enacted in streets and in homes, this one-day symposium interrogates nationally situated and diasporic discourses around housing, domesticity, invasion, intimacy, and the making of home. We ask (among many interrogations) what does it mean to give your home away constantly? How will we live together? Is home where the hatred is? And whether or not “it might not be such a bad idea if we never went home again”?
