The Useful Photographer with João Pina and Fred Ritchin
Freelance photographer João Pina has focused his work on human rights. Fred Ritchin, Dean Emeritus of the International Center of Photography in New York and author of three seminal books on the future of imaging, was formerly Professor of Photography and Imaging at New York University, where he co-founded what is now the Photography and Social Justice Program. Both have understood the photographer’s role in documenting social and humanitarian issues and advocating for solutions. Together, the photographer and the scholar will consider the role of photography moving forward: The Useful Photographer.
