Prolonged Grief in Black Communities
This presentation by Dr. Henry Willis (see bio below) will discuss the experiences of PGD within Black communities. We will discuss the role of historical racism and trauma in exacerbating grief symptoms among Black individuals, considerations for conducting PGDT with Black individuals, and recent community-based research activities involving exploring grief in Black communities.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to identify how sociocultural factors (e.g., racism and historical trauma, among others) may exacerbate grief among Black individuals
2. Participants will be able to highlight considerations for conducting PGDT with Black individuals
3. Participants will be able to highlight community-based research practices for
exploring PGD in Black communities.
